MARLEE HARRISON – BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

Lola “Marlee” Harrison, shares the same hometown as Rosemary Clooney who was born in Maysville, Kentucky, but doesn’t share her birthday, making her a great deal younger.

Currently, Marlee lives in Northwest Indiana and works as a library clerk and sales assistant.  Marlee has also worked for the Cincinnati Fire Museum, the insurance industry … and is a Pastor’s wife and mother of three children, ages 23, 19 & 12 and will soon be a Grandmother for the very first time when her 23-year old son’s wife will give birth.

Marlee grew up living only two blocks from a local radio station WSAI in Cincinnati, Ohio where she and her friends would walk to the station … just to get a peek at the DJ’s who relished in the spectacular view overlooking the city from Price Hill.

“You could always find me with my little transistor, sitting and listening to the radio … day in, and day out, with the Shirley Temple perm that mom always gave me,” said Marlee. “Yep, I was that skinny little kid, sitting on the steps of our apartment listening, and that is where I believe my interest and my future career in radio really began.”

“Listening to the radio was a favorite past time, but I have always wanted to be a part of being in the broadcasting industry, and that has followed me even to this day.”

Marlee remains passionate about the radio industry, knowing she could … not only see, but also hear how the major corporations had been dictating the listening habits of their audience, which eventually led her to finding America’s Coast to Coast

It seemed Marlee’s attitude predicated her desire to be involved, when she could not find any local radio station that would give her that “Good Time” feeling, until she found a radio station in South Carolina who carried Saturday Night at the Oldies and Juke Box Sunday Night, on line … “It was fun waiting to listen to all of the people who would call in, and hear some of the things that made it fun, and even as I wanted to call … I lived in fear of calling.”

Marlee continues to say; “I have never really worked in Radio … however, I did work at a local theatre, Star Plaza Theatre as a part timer for 15 years as a runner (gopher), caterer, wardrobe, and office help. That position allowed me to enjoy working with a wonderful list of performers, even if it was in the background … and the highlight of working backstage is getting to hear the shows and seeing how the productions are put together.”

“It always thrills me to hear bands thank the crew for the set up, because those are the people who really make the shows possible. I hope people appreciate all the work that goes into a concert when all they are seeing … is the finished product of a full day’s work.”

Marlee continues to be a volunteer in the local schools, working in classrooms and helping with an ongoing event called, Market Day for over 17 years and also monitors a Christian chat room, while doing some of the same things for the chat room on www.rockandrollheaven.net.

“My future career in Radio is coming by way of Mason who has enlisted me as one of his crew, although I believe my part to be minor in comparison to all of the things that are currently up and running. I believe the fancy title of production assistant that I gave myself fits in with helping Mason … in contacting a few of the wonderful artists who have already graced the pages of www.rockandrollheaven.net.

“Mason is taking the pieces of this puzzle, and has been carefully putting it together, and … I’m just one of the small odd pieces. How wonderful it will be, when he will finally have it finished, so I can go out and buy some of that puzzle stuff that holds it all together … and have Connie put in a frame.”

Marlee has been instrumental in being a great promotions and production help for America’s Coast to Coast in working with some of the music industry’s most influential Rock and Roll Stars and undoubtedly will play a tremendous role in the future, including the documentary, movie projects and all of the radio assignments.
